Java Developer

Editure Education is a Brighton based company who specialise in web based software for the education sector. Editure Education designed the UK’s first large scale Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) and the first learning platform, DB Primary, specifically for primary schools.

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Java Developer to join our small development team. The role is extremely varied and will involve working with both internal and external clients to design and build new features on our core product. A high standard of coding will be necessary, as well as strong user interface design skills.

The product is being developed rapidly to stay ahead of the market. The candidate will be involved in all stages of the development cycle, and will need to work well within a team environment. The development team follow agile methodologies, including unit testing, code review and continuous integration.

The ideal candidate will be educated to degree level, and have at least 2 years commercial development experience. They will be able to demonstrate strong Java skills including Spring and JSP, combined with web technologies including JavaScript (jQuery), HTML5 and CSS. Experience of mobile app development (iOS and Android) would be a distinct advantage. The candidate will need an awareness of new technologies and an ability to apply them appropriately.

We are located in central Brighton (close to Brighton station).

Salary: Based on experience.
